About Us
Parenting in the digital age isn’t easy — and families need trusted, practical guidance.
That’s why the Upper Dublin Education Foundation created Tech Trek in collaboration with experts in digital wellness and child development, as well as local parents and community leaders.
The content is grounded in research and shaped by insight from trusted voices like Dr. Devorah Heitner, Jonathan Haidt, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the Organization for Social Media Safety. This website includes information for out-of-school digital use. School Board Policy 237 for UDSD can be accessed here.
Our goal is to help families make informed, confident choices about technology — in ways that reflect their values and their kids’ readiness
The Three Pillars of Digital Mentoring
Teach Skills Before Independence.
Help children develop the critical thinking, empathy, and self-regulation skills they need to navigate online spaces safely and responsibly.
Model the Behavior You Want to See.
Demonstrate healthy technology use, digital kindness, and thoughtful online engagement in your own daily life.
Stay Connected, Not Controlling
Maintain open communication about digital experiences while respecting your child's growing need for privacy and autonomy.
